Facts About our Community

  • 90% of women reinvest their income into their families and communities (Clinton Global Initiative)

  • Over 11,000 women-owned businesses in Spokane County + over 1,900 employer firms (U.S Census Bureau, 2022)

    • Only 119 registered with the state (MWBE, 10/24/25)

  • 46.5% of all businesses in Washington are women-owned, including employer + non-employer firms. (U.S. Small Business Administration, Office of Advocacy, 2024)

  • Women are the first to take a hit when there is an economic downturn. (example: COVID-19)

  • 73% of Spokane County women (16+) are in the labor force; among moms with kids 6–17, it’s ~80%. (Employment Security Department, 2025)

  • We’ve already started losing resources (SNAP/WBC, United Way)!!!!
